Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 23, 2026
This page explains what information the বোর্ড বইসমূহ app uses, what it doesn't collect, and how ads, in-app updates, and in-app review are handled.
1. We do not collect personal information
This app does not require any sign-up, login, or account creation. As a result, we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, home address, or any other personally identifiable information (PII).
2. Information the app uses
- Class, subject, and book lists. The app loads class lists, subject lists, book details, cover images, and PDF files from our server over the internet. This data is used only to display content within the app.
- Local storage on your device. Which books you've marked as favorites, which books you've downloaded, and a short list of recently browsed books (used to support offline search) is stored only locally on your device, using Android's SharedPreferences. This information is never sent to our servers or to any third party.
- Downloaded PDF files. Books you choose to download are saved to your device's storage so you can read them later without an internet connection.
3. Permissions used by the app
- Internet. Required to load book lists, cover images, and PDF files from our server, and to load and display ads.
- Storage (applicable only on older Android versions). Required to save downloaded book PDF files to your device.
- Advertising ID (Google Play services / AD_ID). Automatically used by the AdMob and AppLovin MAX SDKs, where available, to show and measure ads. This identifier is reset or limited by your device's own ad settings — see the Advertising section below.
These permissions are used to run the app's core functionality — viewing and downloading books — and to support the ads described below. We do not request any permission (contacts, camera, microphone, location, etc.) beyond what's listed here.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob & AppLovin MAX)
This app shows ads to keep it free to use. Ads are served through Google AdMob and AppLovin MAX (which may itself display ads from other mediated ad networks). Our server only tells the app which network to use, which ad unit to load, and how often to show an ad — it does not receive any personal data about you in this process.
- What these ad networks may collect. To show and measure ads, AdMob, AppLovin, and any networks mediated through AppLovin MAX may automatically collect information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, general (non-precise) location inferred from IP, and how you interact with ads (impressions, clicks). This is handled directly between your device and these providers — our app and our server do not see or store this data.
- Personalized vs. non-personalized ads. Depending on your device settings, region, and consent, ads shown may be personalized (based on ad-network data such as interests) or non-personalized (based on limited contextual information).
- Your controls. You can reset or limit your device's advertising identifier, or opt out of personalized advertising, from your Android device settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads / Google → Ads).
- No other tracking. Outside of what's needed to load and show ads and to check for app updates, this app does not use analytics SDKs or other third-party tracking tools.
For details on how each provider handles data, see Google's Ads & AdMob privacy information and AppLovin's Privacy Policy.
5. In-app updates
This app uses the Google Play In-App Update API to check whether a newer version of the app is available and, if so, to prompt you to update. This check is performed by Google Play using your Play Store account and device information, according to Google Play's own policies — the app itself does not collect any additional personal data for this feature.
6. In-app review
To make it easy to leave feedback, this app uses the Google Play In-App Review API, which may prompt you to rate the app after you've opened a few books, or when you tap "Rate Us." This shows Google's own review dialog inside the app; your rating and any review text are submitted directly to Google Play, not to us.
To decide when to show this prompt, the app locally stores a simple count of how many books you've opened and the date you were last asked, using Android's SharedPreferences on your device. This counter is never sent to our servers or to any third party.
7. Source of content
The textbooks shown in this app are collected from textbooks publicly published on the official website of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) of Bangladesh (https://nctb.gov.bd), so that students can access all their books in one place. This app is not an official, endorsed, or partnered project of NCTB or the Government of Bangladesh; it is an independently developed educational app.
8. Children's privacy
While this app provides textbooks intended for school-age students, it does not knowingly collect personal information from any user, whether a child or an adult — the app itself has no accounts and no forms that ask for personal details.
Because the app now shows ads, we configure our ad requests to serve ads in a manner appropriate for a general or mixed-age audience and do not knowingly show personalized ads to users we know to be children. If you believe a child has been shown an ad that isn't appropriate, please contact us using the details below so we can review our ad settings.
9. Data security
Since information such as favorites, downloads, and your book-open count is stored only on your own device — and never transmitted to our servers — you remain in full control of this data. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data will permanently remove this locally stored information. Data collected directly by AdMob and AppLovin for ad delivery is handled under their own security practices, described in the policies linked above.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, when we add or change features like advertising. Any significant changes will be reflected on this page, along with an updated "Last updated" date above.
